San Francisco

The Story

Opened in the Fall of 2005, The Archive is a one-of-a-kind boutique for men located in the Richmond District in San Francisco. For a city known for its progressive thinking, advanced technology, creative food culture, and diverse communities, a glaring lack of fashion options was apparent. The Archive San Francisco is here to fill that void by offering progressive, and emerging designer brands that are both Avant-Garde and wearable. The designers they feature at The Archive are carefully curated and specialize in artisan construction, experimental techniques, and source the finest quality fabrics. This style is often referred to as “dark brands” or “black fashion” for using predominantly black and monochromatic colorways. The Archive currently stocks about thirty different labels, masculine, unisex, and androgynous styles that even make women shop at the boutique! Most of the brands are imported from Japan and Europe.
