Kuboraum produces glasses and sunglasses and synonymously speaks of their creations as masks that highlight personality and emphasize character. Choosing eyewear which is also a mask while looking in the mirror and perceiving one differently. In a society that aims to annulment of diversity and culture with social massification, having to look different is something one has to learn. Pieces by Kuboraum are like cubic rooms where we shelter ourselves, where we are free to live in our intimacy, where we live all our identities and look at the world through two lenses. Kuboraum Eyewear is not an inanimate and inorganic object but obtains the power of a mask. It changes the perception of self. Those who wear the Kuboraum mask, come to life and accept the challenge to free their identities. A new dimension where wearers can feel at ease, comfortable with themselves and the world around them. Every item is a mask with its own look and power, but as soon as you wear it, the mask doesn’t highlight itself, but it highlights the personality and features of the person wearing it. Kuboraum’s identity is about this relationship.
The brand was founded in Berlin in the rooms of a former post office on the border between east and west berlin. The space that was originally converted into a gallery immediately became the incubator for the creation of new projects.
After various metamorphoses, today this place includes the studio, showroom, and the Kuboraum flagship store. From design to brand identity, from image to communication, from photo to video productions, from installations to interior design projects. All contents are developed in this place under the direction of artist, sculptor, and designer Livio Graziottin and anthropologist and brand director Sergio Eusebi.
Livio Graziottin and Sergio Eusebi met for the first time in Berlin in 2009 during a vernissage in an art gallery of a mutual friend. In 2011 the first collection of five models were born, conceived in opposition to all the dominant aesthetics in the world of eyewear. Kuboraum is an affirmation of independence from an industrial logic based on market research, trends, aesthetic classification, and the annihilation of individual expression.
The masks are carved in the best materials finding their origins in Italy. A fundamental part of the project is that the production of the masks takes into account the protection and preservation of the environment.
