Boris Bidjan Saberi is a half German, half Persian menswear designer
His work is noted for its functional qualities and the constant experimentation with innovative techniques, plus its wide range of references, including skate culture, street style, hip-hop, and clothing from the Middle East. “The designer matures a peculiar clothing language through the celebration of his innate heritage between European and Middle-Eastern culture. It is, therefore, the burst of an instinctive primitiveness in which raw materials and accurate tailoring fuse together.”
The symbolic trademark 11
Born on September 11, 1978 in Munich, Germany, 11 is in fact the symbolic trademark of the brand and the name of Boris Bidjan Saberi’s additional line “11 by Boris Bidjan Saberi”.
Original Object Dyeing Processes
Boris Bidjan Saberi developed his own, very original and sustainable dyeing processes. While constantly maintaining a monochrome color palette, often collections exclusively introduce a specific color for their theme. The 11 by Boris Bidjan Saberi shoe line in Collaboration with Salomon constantly is available in various colors and even offers shoes that are only partially dyed.
Boris Bidjan Saberi
Boris Bidjan Saberi has showcased his extraordinary collections through several fashion shows in Paris for almost a decade from 2012. The last show was called RETROSPECTIVE OF 11 YEARS OF WORK OF BORIS BIDJAN SABERI and took place during 080 Barcelona Fashion – in the city where he studied fashion design and is based with his atelier and headquarters. One year before, he decided to stop presenting his collections in Paris, as a protest to the tight schedule set by the fashion industry.
High-end Materials & Great Attention to Detail
One of the specialties about the designs of Boris Bidjan Saberi is the great attention that is paid to small details by applying unique skills during the utilization of techniques such as hand-stitches – coarsely made but aligned to perfection, special material treatments, for example, resin/vinyl/wax coatings by hand – designed to appear irregularly making each piece unique, seam taping – to be applied to garments in a symmetrical overall design-concept.
All these very unique processes brought to life by BBS on an extraordinary dimension of perfection are executed in combination with the most high-end materials only. For example, BBS uses the finest vegetable tanned leathers for their range of leather jackets. Thick and heavy horse leather garments are being heavily oiled by hand which makes the material supple and gives it a unique feel. Items made of cotton, such as Pants, Jackets, and Hoodies meet the highest standards in thickness and durability for years to come.
