HAVEN

HAVEN was founded in 2006 by brothers Arthur and Daniel Chmielewski. HAVEN is a Vancouver-based menswear brand and retailer dedicated to considered design and craftsmanship. Informed by the landscape and climate of the Pacific Northwest, the brands perspective is shaped by the balance between city living and the natural environment. The garments are thoughtfully crafted using the finest materials, designed for adaptability and built to endure through years of wear and shifting conditions.

Rooted in the Pacific Northwest, HAVEN creates refined, functional clothing that instills confidence and comfort across environments. Inspired by Canada’s rugged landscapes and diverse climates, HAVEN designs garments that balance familiarity with ingenuity, to improve comfort and utility. The garments are meticulously crafted in Canada and Japan from the finest materials and refined to ensure timeless design and uncompromising quality.

Materiality and texture are central to HAVEN’s process. Lightweight tropical wools, linen poplins, fine cottons, and high-grade technical fabrics are selected for their performance, drape, and longevity. Washed treatments and subtle finishing techniques introduce depth and individuality, allowing natural variation to emerge across each garment. Colour palettes are often drawn from the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest — coastal tones, softened neutrals, and seasonal shifts that reflect the clarity and movement of the environment.

HAVEN’s approach combines advanced technical fabrics with artisanal craftsmanship and responsible production. The brand frequently works in limited quantities and explores ways of extending the life of existing materials through transformation rather than new production. Projects utilizing deadstock technical fabrics — including GORE-TEX PRO sourced from Okayama, Japan — have been individually hand-dyed and refinished in small runs, creating subtle variations that ensure each garment carries its own character. These processes reflect HAVEN’s commitment to sustainability, experimentation with performance materials, and the creation of garments defined by durability, individuality, and thoughtful craft.

Across collections, HAVEN explores the relationship between stillness and movement as well as function and form. Each piece is designed to adapt to the wearer and the world around them, reflecting a philosophy where utility is refined, materials are respected, and garments gain character through time, use, and environment.
