His design philosophy centered on creating timeless, utilitarian, hand-made garments from the finest materials, with a focus on transforming these pieces through distinctive treatments and washes. Experimentation and rebellion became his core values, and similar to Carol Christian Poell, Maurizio Altieri’s attitude became strongly believing his work spoke for itself, not needing any kind of advertising or editorials.

Layer-0 is an Italian fashion brand, founded by designer Alessio Zero from Perugia, Italy. After studying the profession of a pattern maker and tailor, he decided to pursue his own vision of what a garment can be. As a result, Alessio founded the label Layer-0 and began to experiment with techniques ranging from the traditional handmade practices of garment construction to modern fabric treatments, crafting his own unique vision.
