About EMATYTE
EMATYTE is the timeless and eco-friendly shoe label by Gabriele Calvetti. Footwear is produced by artisan traditional methods mixed with unique experimental aesthetics. Sticking to traditional shoe making processes, each piece is a result of various prototypes, resulting in unique artworks. Each EMATYTE shoe is crafted by hand and is made from a single piece of high-quality reverse horse skin, after being softened and dyed with completely natural products.
Gabriele acquired the technique of shoemaking through self-education, after working at a French fashion company an in 2015 established his own brand and studio in the countryside of Florence, Tuscany, Italy. Gathering materials, sewing and shoebox making, every step which goes into his creation is done by Gabriele himself. His high technical skills are visible in every detail.
