This January, WERKSTATT:MUNCHEN has happily presented its latest jewelry collection during the presitigious Paris Fashion Week. Known for blending artisanal craftsmanship with avantgarde aesthetics, WERKSTATT:MUNCHEN once again pushes boundaries with a striking juxtaposition of materials and motifs.
At the heart of the new works are silver pearls – not your traditional lustrous gems, but meticulously crafted pure silver beads that radiate both raw beauty and modern elegance. The pearl, in universal design philosophy, symbolizes dignity and elegance, a timeless representation of purity and grace. Like the prototypes of uniquely natural grown treasures in oysters, those pearls also have individual marks on their surfaces, some blackened and scratched as if taken from old jewelry styles – turning necklaces and bracelets into timeless, grown-up yet ubiquitous pieces.
While some pearls are paired with silver caps inspired by acorns, blossoms and lanterns and integrated into earrings and necklaces with a more feminine approach, you will as well find pearls contrasting with silver skulls. Following WERKSTATT:MUNCHEN’s signature formal tradition, the brand features new naturalistically designed skulls – since they stand as a powerful symbol of vanitas (transience) and eternity, reminding us of the fleeting nature of life and the permanence of the soul. These skulls, rich in detail and rendered with exceptional finesse, highlight the intricate artistry that defines the label. It’s about life as a whole and the beauty of life.
Furthermore, a new element was translated into new rings, bracelets and earrings: an overlap of two open endings of forged silver, inspired by crossing arms during a passionate embrace. For the “embrace” pieces silver wire is bent by hand to cross and metaphorically trace encounters or points of importance as well as play with dimensions.
Broadening also an array of silver ware you will now find an incent holder, simplistic yet sophisticated crafted in sterling silver by forging a silver leaf and a revolving silver drop by hand.
