Kié Einzelgänger

Kié Einzelgänger was originally initiated in 2016 as Ageless Einzelgänger LLC with the partnership and permanently rebranded as Kié Einzelgänger ® in Manhattan, New York since 2019. Along the dissolvement of the past partnerships, this brand independently re-located in Antwerp, Belgium.

This chosen word, “Einzelgänger”: a maverick or a person who walks alone, became a stable umbrella to the brand identity. Kié Einzelgänger unceasingly promotes the ambiance and the image of the “Einzelgänger” to the individuals. This melancholic portrayal of Einzelgänger character has been well-harmonized with the brand’s original research on the visual arts of the interbellum (inter-war) period between 1920s- 1940s with an inevitable influence of the Surrealism and the Dadaism. This persistent research on this specific period has been an infinite library to this brand since the very first production in 2016. This brand desires to maintain this certain aesthetic of the Interbellum period and merge to the 21st centuries by continuing on endlessly applying the classical elements to each creation.

Kié Lee was born in Basel, Switzerland in 1992. She spent her childhood in Switzerland & South Korea and moved to New York for her Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design at Parsons School of Design. She lived in New York for 8 years achieving a BFA degree and gaining several industry experiences. At the age of 23, she opened her own business with the partnership (Ageless Einzelgänger LLC 2016-2019) in New York and prepared herself to present a Ready-to-Wear collection in Paris. While creating her first collection, she stayed in Japan numerous times for fabric sourcing and production as she appreciated the supplier’s true support to young creators by allowing her to produce the small amount at a slow pace.

After few seasons of presentation in New York and Paris with Ageless Einzelgänger LLC, she decides to move her base to Europe, and permanently rebrand her business as Kié Einzelgänger ® (2019 – present and future). She graduated and obtained the Master’s degree of Visual Arts at Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 2022, and heading forward as a candidate of PhD in Paris, France in the year of 2024.

At this moment of 2022, Kié Einzelgänger ® is in collaboration with WILDSIDE Yohji Yamamoto since the launch date of July, 2022 and broadening & seeking the stockists for next coming years globally with consistent creations. Kié Einzelgänger ® will exhibit AW2024 in Paris during January 2024 at 23 rue Michel le Comte, 75003 Paris, France, under the theme of Chap.30 “Einzelgänger the Gambler”
