RAW Looks — Community Look Submission Terms & Editorial Licence

These Community Look Submission Terms and Editorial Licence (“Submission Terms”) govern the upload and submission of photographs, styling information, garment tags, and associated materials (collectively, “Content”) to RAW Looks (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By checking the agreement box and submitting your Content, you enter into a legally binding agreement with RAW Looks under the following terms:
1. Eligibility & Capacity (Age 18+)
1.1. You represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and possess the full legal capacity to enter into these Submission Terms.
1.2. If you are submitting on behalf of a creative team, agency, brand, or third party, you warrant that you are authorized to bind that party to these terms.
2. Copyright Ownership & Authorship
2.1. You retain copyright ownership in all original photographs and materials submitted.
2.2. You warrant and represent that:
- You are the original creator (photographer/author) and copyright owner of the Content, or
- You have obtained all necessary written authorizations, assignments, or sub-licences from the copyright holder to grant the licences set forth herein.
2.3. You warrant that the Content is free from any third-party claims, liens, exclusive assignments, or encumbrances that would conflict with this licence.
3. Grant of Editorial & Publishing Licence
3.1. By submitting your Content, you grant RAW Looks a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to:
- Host, store, reproduce, format, display, distribute, communicate to the public, and digitally publish the Content on rawlooks.com and any affiliated RAW Looks web properties.
- Feature the Content in RAW Looks editorial articles, style archives, newsletters, email publications, lookbooks, and promotional media.
- Publish and distribute the Content across RAW Looks official social media channels (including, but not limited to, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, and X/Twitter).
- Authorize our technical service providers, CDNs, and digital platforms to store, transmit, and serve the Content solely as needed to operate our services.
3.2. Editorial Modifications: You grant RAW Looks the right to crop, resize, colour-correct, retouch for format, combine into editorial grids, caption, translate styling descriptions, and associate garment taxonomy tags with the Content, while preserving the overall artistic integrity of the work.
4. Third-Party Rights & Model Releases (Person Rights)
4.1. You represent and warrant that:
- Every recognizable individual depicted in the submitted photographs has granted their informed consent to be photographed and to have their likeness published and distributed in accordance with these Submission Terms.
- The photographs do not violate any person’s right of privacy, publicity, personal dignity, or data protection rights under applicable laws (including Art. 6/Art. 85 GDPR and § 22 KunstUrhG).
- The Content does not depict minors or any unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or harmful material.
5. Attribution & Moral Rights
5.1. RAW Looks will make commercially reasonable efforts to display your provided Styling Attribution, Photographer Credit, and @instagram_handle on or adjacent to your published Look card and modal info overlays.
5.2. You acknowledge that technical limitations, responsive mobile viewports, or third-party platform constraints (such as thumbnail previews) may occasionally necessitate truncated or abbreviated credits.
6. Editorial Curation & No Obligation to Publish
6.1. Submitting Content does not guarantee that it will be published or archived.
6.2. RAW Looks reserves sole editorial discretion regarding the selection, scheduling, categorization, feature placement, or removal of any submitted Look.
6.3. RAW Looks may unpublish, archive, or remove Content at any time without prior notice.
7. Content Removal & Takedown Requests
7.1. If you wish to request the removal of a published Look due to an intellectual property dispute, privacy concern, or revoked model consent, you may submit a request to [email protected] specifying the Look URL and reason.
7.2. RAW Looks will review and, where substantiated, promptly remove or de-index the Look from its active web archive within a reasonable timeframe.
8. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RAW Looks, its owners, operators, and affiliates from and against any third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and legal expenses arising out of or related to:
- Any breach of your warranties concerning copyright ownership, licensing authority, or model/privacy consents.
- Any infringement of third-party intellectual property or personal rights caused by your submitted Content.
9. Data Protection & Privacy
Information submitted through the form (including your name, email address, handle, IP hash, and consent record) is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy to verify, administer, and publish your contribution.
10. Governing Law
These Submission Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
