Gary Girin is a designer in Moscow, producing high-end handmade leather bags and accessories with an avant-garde appearance. He started leather craftsmanship as a hobby in 2014 that turned into a manifest – to create leather items that you just love to hold in your hands. Two years later Gary established his own brand as a one-man project.
From the very beginning, he focused the concept of his brand on luxurious vegetable-tanned leather (primarily horse) and functional simplicity. Combining it with raw, hammered steel hardware or sterling silver details.
Gary Girin specializes in handmade bags, backpacks, wallets, belts, and minor accessories as well. All hand-stitched with a classic technique of saddle stitching.
In 2019 he invented his own dyeing technique, using natural ingredients, and took a new direction in the so-called “artisanal-tech” style. The unique dyeing technique is a secret brew called “Japanese ink”. It is a water-based dye, that doesn’t contain alcohol or any harmful chemicals.
“Working with leather is not a monologue. It’s a constant dialogue, as the leather whispers to Gary Girin what shape is better to choose according to the pattern, or even the whole concept of a new item. You just have to listen to it…”
The brand’s philosophy and core values: Mankind is a part of nature and born to live in harmony with Mother Earth. As an equal part of it, mankind should use only natural products in all aspects of life. This principle will maintain health and the quality of life for human beings as well as the health of the Earth.
